Natural Sourcing International is starting a voluntary recall of 32oz Great Value Organic Black Chia Seeds sold at Walmart. because some of the finished goods might contain Salmonella.

Salmonella can infect small children, the elderly, the frail, and those with compromised immune systems with serious and occasionally fatal infections.

When infected with Salmonella, healthy individuals frequently experience fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (which can be bloody), and stomach pain.

Rarely, a Salmonella infection can cause the bacteria to enter the bloodstream and cause more serious conditions like endocarditis, arthritis, and arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms).

Although there have been no recorded adverse incidents related to the products, the company is recalling them out of caution and because customer safety is their first priority.
