January in Sioux Falls only means one thing...Burger Battle! This year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle is pretty intense. A record 37 savory burgers from local Sioux Falls restaurants are looking for your stomachs and votes.

When it comes to burgers, there definitely is one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! Sponsored by First Western Bank & Trust, the 11th annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle features burgers residents can sink their teeth into. It's hard to decide which of the 37 burgers to try. But someone has to do it! I was really interested in this next burger from MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub. This downtown spot is known for its mouthwatering pizza and burgers. Once again, this restaurant has a new burger entry in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle called "The MacK."

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, "The MacK" is a "1/2 lb. all-beef patty served on top of a chiffonade of romaine, 2 slices of tomato, topped with 2 slices of American cheese, special sauce, and white pepper pickle and onion relish, on a brioche bun. The burger comes with fries and a side of secret recipe Fry Sauce for dipping." Heads up: This is another messy burger on the Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle journey.

"The MacK" burger from MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub is yummy! It does have a similar taste to the burger entry at The Blarney Stone. Nonetheless, "The MacK" burger tastes good. My favorite part was the secret sauce. It's intriguing. The sauce brings all the flavors of the burger together. Personally, I couldn't stop dipping the sauce in the french fries.
