Golf fans in Sioux Falls will have something exciting to look forward to in 2026. Dakota News Now is reporting that the Sanford Sports Futures Championship is set to take place August 4–5 at two popular public courses in the city.
This well-known, invitation-only tournament brings together many of the top high school and college golfers from across the Midwest. Golf Course Highlights: Prairie Green and Elmwood Host the Tournament
Prairie Green Golf Course will serve as the main site for the college men’s and women’s divisions, along with the high school boys and girls competitions. Meanwhile, Elmwood Golf Course will host the new seventh- and eighth-grade divisions.
The format of the tournament will vary by age group. The college men will compete in a challenging two-day, 54-hole event. The seventh- and eighth-grade players will take part in two-day, 18-hole competitions. All other divisions will compete in two-day, 36-hole events.
Tournament organizers say the expansion reflects growing interest from the golfing community. By adding new divisions and using both courses, more young athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive setting.
