Changes Ahead As Allegiant Reworks Sioux Falls Flight Schedule
Air travelers in Sioux Falls hoping to catch a non-stop flight to the West Coast this summer are out of luck.
Allegiant Air is pulling out of seven airports across the country, including Los Angeles International (LAX), which had been a seasonal route from the Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD) for the past several years. Sioux Falls is one of 13 cities losing service to LAX.
Allegiant is also ending service in Columbia, South Carolina; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Minneapolis-St. Paul; Oakland, California; Norfolk, Virginia; and San Diego.

According to aviation analytics firm OAG, the move is part of a major restructuring of Allegiant's schedule, which is eliminating 61 routes and adding 49 new ones.
Flyers in South Dakota's largest city still have seven non-stop destination options on Allegiant:
- Daytona Beach/Sanford, FL
- Ft. Lauderdale/Miami, FL
- Las Vegas, NV
- Mesa/Phoenix, AZ
- Nashville, TN
- Punta Gorda, Ft. Myers, FL
- St. Petersburg/Clearwater/Tampa, FL
