Weather Forces Change to Sioux Falls Airport Parking Garage Work
The weather forecast this week in Sioux Falls has forced officials at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport to push back the beginning the next phase of a new parking garage project by a day.
The possibility of high winds in the area Wednesday (April 3), means the installation of a new skyway linking the terminal to a new parking garage will take place Thursday (April 4).
That work will alter the flow of traffic in the area.
The airport's Facebook page has more details on what to expect.
The start of the latest phase will come nearly one year to the day when construction began on the $63 million project (April 3, 2023).
When it opens in October it will provide 975 parking spaces in the four-level structure.
On social media, the airport announced the skywalk from the parking garage to the airport terminal will be placed (now) on Thursday April 4 and Jaycee Lane, which includes departure drop-off, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Airport officials are reminding travelers to arrive at least two hours before flight departures to account for any possible delays.
