Off the Tee: Dustin Johnson Dominates, Will Skip Masters Tune-Up
This is the time of the year you want to be on a roll on the PGA Tour, and nobody with a club in his hand is hotter that Dustin Johnson these days.
Sunday in Austin, Texas (March 26), Johnson extended his win streak to three straight events, with a win at the WGC Match Play. He made even bigger news the next day when he announced he was skipping this week's Shell Open, the last tour stop before The Masters.
In this edition of 'Off The Tee', I talk with Joel Harrington from 4 Deep Golf blog about DJ's hot play as of late, and whether skipping the last event before golf's first major of the year is a good idea.
We also discuss:
- Jason Day withdrawing from the match play event to be with his mother while she goes through breast cancer treatments. His status for The Masters is still up in the air.
- A preview of this week's Shell Houston Open preview, with a loaded field all trying to get some momentum heading to Augusta next week.
- A 2017 Masters Preview, including the players to watch and the updated odds of winning.
Here's my conversation with Joel:
