Unthinkable news struck the National Football League on Saturday as one of their own tragically was killed.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was struck by a truck on a south Florida highway and was killed.

According to ESPN, Haskins was trying to cross the highway when he was struck by a dump truck.

The 24 year old, had been playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being released by the Washington Commanders where they drafted him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

After starring at Ohio State and struggling to start his NFL career, it appeared as he found a role in Pittsburgh as they resigned him this offseason to be a backup.
