MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - These days, many fans of the Twins are more excited about players like Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton than Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau or anyone else in Minnesota.

Even if the Twins finish with another losing season at the major league level, the organization is off to a smashing start this year in the minors.

The story begins with Buxton, the second overall pick in the 2012 draft. The center fielder entered Wednesday batting .333 with 55 runs and 26 stolen bases in 52 games for the Cedar Rapids Kernels in low Class A.

Then there's Sano, the third baseman in high Class A. He's hitting .333 with 14 home runs and 45 RBIs in 54 games for the Fort Myers Miracle.
