As temperatures soared, so did the excitement at Rivers Edge Park, where volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the tournament ran without a hitch.

After months of anticipation and many pauses in The House v. NCAA lawsuit, U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken, approved schools to begin paying their players directly, starting July 1.

Since head coach Patrick Murphy's inaugural season in 1999, Alabama has qualified for the NCAA Tournament every year.

Next up, Alabama will face South Carolina Wednesday night, approximately 35 minutes after Game 6 which is scheduled for 4 p.m. The game will air on SEC Network.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – After claiming its fifth straight NSIC regular season title, the Augustana softball team earned nine all-conference selections—including six as First Team honorees—league officials announced Tuesday. Additionally, Grace Glanzer was honored with her second straight Pitcher of the Year award and Gretta Melsted was named Coach of the Year.

Being a 3-year varsity starter is a great accomplishment for anyone but doing so as a 9th grader is incredible. Freshman Ava Knutson is one of the top pitchers for the Sauk Rapids-Rice softball team and has been a varsity starter since she was a 7th grader.

It was a pitchers' duel for much of the game, with both teams holding each other in check through six innings.

The poor weather has a lot of sports fans feeling down. Just when baseball and softball seasons in our area are supposed to be heating up, the weather is cooling down the home game starts for our area programs.

We're midway through the College Basketball season, with plenty of madness still to come. College Baseball and Softball are both right around the corner, with first pitches for area programs coming up in just over a week.

SDSU put together a tremendous 2022 softball season but unfortunately that run came to an end on Sunday.
