A Major League Umpire Is a Hero for Saving a Woman’s Life
If you were to look back on what moment in your life stands out that you can say "now that is the best thing that's ever happened" what would it be?
For one man it's saving a life.
According to ESPN, John Tumpane was crossing the Roberto Clemente Bridge in Pittsburgh on Wednesday when he saw a woman hop over the railing. Tumpane approached the woman and could see by the look on her face and the tone in her voice that she just wasn't getting a better look at the river below.
Tumpane is a major league baseball umpire who was in town to work the series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Tampa Bay Rays reached for her even as she urged him to let her go. With the help of another man they held on to the woman while someone called 911.
We here of these stories from time to time even the ones that are close to you. Just like the one in our office last month when one of our coworkers collapsed and others saved his life with CPR.
There is a hero in all of us.
