Sioux Falls Burger Battle: ‘The Wagoolicious’ Fernson Downtown

January in Sioux Falls only means one thing...Burger Battle! This year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle is pretty intense. A record 37 savory burgers from local Sioux Falls restaurants are looking for your stomachs and votes.

When it comes to burgers, there definitely is one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! Sponsored by First Western Bank & Trust, the 11th annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle features burgers residents can sink their teeth into. You only have ONE MORE DAY to try 37 burgers in this year's battle. It's a challenge but it can be done! The next burger has the whole Sioux Empire talking! People are anxious to try The Wagoolicious from Fernson Downtown. 

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, The Wagoolicious is a burger with "two cheddar crusted 100% Local Wangus Beef Patties, Bacon Jam with Ferson's Snow Eater Stout, White & Yellow American Cheese, Tomatoes, Pickles, Onions, Wagoo Signature Sauce, Lettuce, Brioche Bun." Be prepared to wait for about 30 minutes before you can bite into The Wagoolicious from Fernson Downtown.

The bacon jam is prominent in the best way. The "Wangus Beef" is also a treat. The famous Wagoo Signature Sauce brings this entire burger together. I would say The Wagoolicious is a top contender in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle. Aside from the burger itself, the staff at Fernson Downtown does a great job catering to every customer no matter how packed it is inside. For example, they ran out of french fries and chips for a side to the burger by the time my fiancé and I sat down to eat. Due to the shortage of sides, they were nice enough to give us a discount on our meal. Fernson Downtown did not have to, but it was a great gesture by the staff.
