But one of those answers would probably NOT be eastern South Dakota.

It should be. I think part of it is, we live here and just don't see it. We take things for granted and as a result, we miss the astonishing sights and scenes that are right before our eyes.

You folks around the Elk Point and Jefferson area probably know Jerry. While I grew up with him in the Edgerton, Minnesota area, Jerry spent nearly four decades working for the Elk Point/Jefferson school district. And 'on the side', he took pictures. Stunning pictures and all close to home.

I've shared some of those pictures over the past weeks and am happy to share more here. It's important to note that all of these are close to home, right there in Union County in good 'ol South Dakota. That's right, these images are just down the road a bit. Wow. See how many you recognize.

Those last two there, they may bring to mind 'One person's trash is another person's treasure'. At least, those pictures are a treasure.

If you'd like to contact Jerry and let him know what you think of these pictures and the others I've featured, you can email him at jerry@klumper.net

Thanks, Jerry for reminding us to slow down, take a look around, and enjoy the beauty that lives all around us.
