At 699,000 square feet, the new Amazon fulfillment center in north Sioux Falls is the largest building in the city and probably the state of South Dakota.

The building sat completed but idle for several months as Amazon pushed back the original opening date. The mega-retailer couldn't find enough workers to staff the center. But now the center is slowly ramping up operations. Dakota News Now recently interviewed general manager Tim Choate who said soon the center will be handling 12 million packages per week.
