VASCAR is a time/distance measuring device employed to calculate a vehicle's average speed between two predetermined points...the white-painted rectangles.

The officer retraces the violator's path to measure the distance and the computer displays the average speed.

In July of 2023 alone Minnesota reported over 20,000 drivers were cited for speeding violations.
