What the Heck Is the Great Plains Zoo’s ‘Zoofari’ All About?

Kids aren't the only ones who love hanging out and having fun at a zoo. They know this at the Great Plains Zoo and that is why they have this fantastic event coming up for adults only.

Zoofari is the Great Plains Zoo's Party of the Summer for grownups!

Party guests will have the chance to meet ambassador animals, feed giraffes, and farm friends, tour the zoo's vet clinic, do a "walkabout" with the Zoo's kangaroos, and be amazed by the traveling butterfly and "Ocean in Motion".

Plus, Zoofari participants can ask every animal question they have during very special zookeeper chats.

Tickets for dinner from local food trucks and adult beverages are included with admission, with additional tickets available for purchase. Food trucks at the event will include Taverns + Tots, Wagoo Burger, Oh My Cupcakes!, and Taqueria Juanita.

There will be a ton of great raffle prizes too, like a private dinner and training session with brown bears Kodiak and Katmai, tickets to the Wings &  Waves Gala, and a lot more.

Proceeds from this event will go toward the mission of bringing the Butterfly House & Aquarium to the Great Plains Zoo campus so that the whole wild world will be in one place for the Sioux Falls community to enjoy.

Great Plains Zoo CEO Becky Dewitz says, "Zoofari is a fun-filled evening for grownups to enjoy their zoo with family and friends. Over the next several years, we are working to bring these two beloved destinations onto one campus - and we could not do that without the incredible support of our community and the City of Sioux Falls."
