Alabama-Georgia Draws Top Ratings Last Weekend
It's always a big matchup when the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs line up against one another, and Saturday's bout in Athens, Georgia, was no different. Alabama defeated Georgia 24-21, snapping the Bulldogs' 33-game win streak in Sanford Stadium.

The matchup off the field was between the two biggest conferences in college football: The SEC and the Big Ten. At the same time as Alabama-Georgia, Oregon and Penn State were playing in a top-ten matchup for the Big Ten. The SEC yet again reigned supreme in the television markets, however, with the SEC generating more TV viewership than the Big Ten.
Alabama and Georgia generated 10.4 million viewers on ABC. In second place was Oregon-Penn State at 7.7 million viewers on NBC.
It was a good weekend for the SEC, with viewership numbers for the SEC reaching the 20 million range between Alabama-Georgia, Ole Miss-LSU, and Notre Dame-Arkansas. The SEC reached a peak viewership of 28.9 million.
Alabama is expected to draw big viewership numbers this week again, taking on the 16th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores this Saturday, October 4, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
