Will A Beloved Minnesota Viking Make It Into The Hall of Fame This Year?

Some players just leave a mark after they are gone from a team.  I feel like Jared Allen was one of those.  He was an incredible player, has great stats to show for it and also just always seemed like a great guy.

He has a charity called Homes For Wounded Warriors. The charity's website explains his reason for creating it:

We recognized a gap in what is provided for our wounded veterans when they returned home. The long road to recovery not only begins when they leave the confines of the hospital, but when they return to their homes to begin a sense of normality. Upon return, many of our wounded vets face new obstacles by simply navigating their lives in their own homes. These changes can be daunting, costly and take significant time to adjust. This is where Jared Allen’s Home for Wounded Warriors and you can help our heroes.

Good news is that after two years of missing the cut, Jared Allen made the list of those that could now be inducted into the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

His resume certainly reads like one that belongs in the Hall of Fame.  He spent a decade in the NFL, five of them with Minnesota from 2008 - 2013. He amassed 136 sacks during his career. That ranks him at 12th in NFL history and nine of the players ahead of him are already in the Hall of Fame as you can see below.

Additionally FanNation says he has,

"two sack titles (2007, 2011), four All-Pro selections and five Pro Bowl selections and he has the resume of a sure-fire Hall of Famer."
