After a win over Penn State, the Minnesota Gophers are now just outside of the top-five in the newest AP and Coaches Polls.

The Gophers are now ranked seventh in the weekly AP (Associated Press) poll. It is the highest-ranking for the school in the poll since the 1962 season according to the school. Minnesota is also ranked seventh in this week's Coaches Poll.

Minnesota is among five other college football FBS programs that are undefeated. They were ranked 17th in last week's College Football Playoff Rankings, and the win over Penn State (who was 4th in the rankings) will propel the Gophers closer to the four playoff spots. The new rankings will be released later this week.

Three games remain in the regular season for Minnesota. The Gophers will travel the next two weeks as they play at Iowa (November 16) and Northwestern (November 23). Minnesota will close the regular season at home against Wisconsin (November 30).
