The 2017 Stanley Cup Final is over and it ended the same way as it did in 2016 with the Pittsburgh Penguins winning once again.

The Penguins defeated the Nashville Predators on Sunday night to capture their second title in two years.

The final was 2-0 and the series ended 4-2 in Pittsburgh's favor.

It was the first time that the NHL saw a repeat Stanley Cup Final winner since 1998 when the Detroit Red Wings won for the second consecutive season.

This was the first time though that a team had ever repeated as champions since the salary cap era began in the NHL.

Sidney Crosby was named the MVP of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second year as well.
