During the argument, the man tried to leave the house. The woman prevented him from going out and at some point grabbed a handgun and threatened him.

As she was doing so she pulled the trigger and shot the man. He was hit in the arm by the bullet at which point he ran outside yelling that he had been shot.

Some people in the area that heard the gunshot then called the police. When the police arrived they found that a 32-year-old Sioux Falls man had been shot in the arm.

He was taken to an area hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and released.

Sioux Falls Police arrested 31-year-old Kayla Marie Chase of Sioux Falls on charges of Aggravated Assault, Domestic Violence, False Imprisonment, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
