South Dakota State to Play North Carolina State in Puerto Rico
The South Dakota State women's basketball team will be spending Thanksgiving tangling with one of last season's best teams in the ACC.
The Jackrabbits will play North Carolina State in the Puerto Rico Clasico in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Friday, November 24.
The Wolfpack went 23-9 last season, finishing tied for fourth in the league. They advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament as an at-large selection, eventually losing to Texas. NC State finished with a 39 RPI.
Third-leading scorer and leading rebounder Chelsea Nelson will return for her senior season.
The Jackrabbits also went 23-9 last season, finishing tied for second in the Summit League. SDSU qualified for the WNIT as an at-large pick, losing to Colorado in round two. The Jacks finished with a 45 RPI.
Leading scorer Madison Guebert returns for her junior season. Former All-Summit League first team selection Macy Miller is expected to return after missing most of last season with a leg injury.
This will be the first meeting between South Dakota State and North Carolina State.
The game will take place at the 5,000-seat Fajardo Arena.
