Stephen A. Smith’s New Deal Will End His ESPN Radio Show in 2020
Stephen A. Smith is expected to sign a new deal with ESPN, and the new contract will bring an end to his daily afternoon show on ESPN Radio.
The Big Lead is reporting that Smith is nearing a long-term deal to remain with ESPN through 2025. The New York Post examined that Smith could make as much as $10 million per year from ESPN.
Andrew Marchand of the New York Post has added some extra details to the new contract. Marchand says that the Stephen A. Smith Show on ESPN Radio will be coming to an end in 2020. Smith would continue his role on ESPN's First Take and also expand his talents to SportsCenter in regards to the NBA and other special circumstances. Marchand adds that Max Kellerman and Mina Kimes could be potential replacements for Smith on ESPN Radio. The change is set to be made sometime in 2020.
Smith was brought back to ESPN Radio to host a two-hour daily afternoon show in January 2017. His show has aired on ESPN 99.1 since returning to ESPN Radio.
