#1 College Basketball Prospect Says No Thanks and Is Heading To The G-League

The #1 college basketball prospect has decided against taking that route and instead head off to the NBA G-League for the 2020-2021 season.

Jalen Green is rated as the #1 prospect in the 2020 High School class and will forgo college to play in the NBA G-League next season.

Green is very athletic and can get his own shot whenever he needs to and he hopes this opportunity will prepare him better for the NBA than the traditional college route.

He will be a part of the NBA pathway program that will pay him $500,000 next season and provide him with NBA like training as well.

According to ESPN, another prospect committed to the pathway program includes McDonald's All-American Isaiah Todd who just recently de-committed from Michigan and is choosing this route over another top-flight college program.

This program will allow players to play in 10-12 games against other G-League teams while also playing games against international teams.

According to that same ESPN report, former Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell may be the leading candidate to coach the team.

Regardless of how these guys do, the interest will be there to see them play and they will be compensated for doing so.

We'll have to wait and see how many future top prospects follow their lead.

As you can see though, Green has major skills that could translate to the next level big time.
