The South Dakota Coyotes and South Dakota State Jackrabbits meet every year on the gridiron these days and have a storied rivalry that dates back to 1889.
Lately, the Jackrabbits have been the aggressor in the series, winning 13 of the last 15 matchups.
The Yotes have been able to pull off a pair of home wins in the series in recent years, winning in 2019 and 2021, but haven't won in Brookings since 2000.

This year's rivalry tilt is set for Saturday, November 8th in Vermillion.
In total, the Jackrabbits hold a 58-52-7 advantage all-time in the series. The first game took place in 1889 and was a 6-6 tie between the two schools. Sioux Falls actually played host to three contests in the series (1919, 1920, and 1933).
