Celebrity Sighting! Big-Name Movie Actor Spotted Having Fun In Minnesota

A big-name Hollywood star with a highly-anticipated new movie coming out later this year was spotted hanging out at a Minnesota entertainment venue having a great time.

None other than X-Men and Deadpool star Wolverine himself was spotted in Rochester this week.

Hugh Jackman spent some time at Chip Shots in Rochester, which is a really cool looking sports bar that features not only a menu of food and beverage items, but also has pickleball courts, cornhole, golf simulators, and more.

The team at Chip Shots shared some photos last night of Hugh posing for photos with fans and staff. It looks like he spent some time at the golf simulator while he was there, as he posed in one photo with a golf club in front of one of the venue's simulators.

The Star Tribune reports that Hugh played a few rounds of golf and while he didn't leave a scorecard, he reportedly played pretty well. The venue's manager said "He's pretty good" in response to his golf game.

Why was Hugh Jackman in Minnesota?

Staff at Chip Shots told the Star Tribune they didn't ask why Hugh was in town to respect is privacy, but a Rochester TV station offered an answer to why he was in town.

KMIT TV pointed out in a story about Jackman's Rochester visit that he is dealing with a form of skin cancer. Jackman has been vocal about his basal cell carcinoma, having received treatment for the skin cancer several times over the years.

CNN reported in 2023 that Jackman has received a number of treatments over the years that have included a procedure in 2013 to remove a growth from his nose.

This type of skin cancer is one of the most common in the United States and can be effectively treated if caught early. Jackman has since advocated wearing sunscreen and take proper precautions of prevention.

While he was able to have some fun during his visit to Minnesota, it looks like he might have been in town for more than just a vacation. If the trip was indeed inspored by his skin cancer, hopefully the checkup or whatever treatment might have been part of his visit went well.
