Crime never takes a vacation…..and it may actually be a more regular occurrence during the holiday season! In fact, the Rapid City Police Department has been vigilantly searching for a high profile criminal in the state of South Dakota.

Well, good news! The Rapid City Police Department finally captured one of the most notable Christmas crooks late last week. This fugitive's crimes are almost unspeakable. One thing is for sure, this criminal does not have one ounce of Christmas spirit in him.

Over the weekend, the Rapid City Police Department confirmed on its Facebook page that they caught The Grinch in broad daylight. So what was The Grinch doing during the day? His mission was to steal bikes from kids. How scandalous!

A Facebook post tells the Christmas lovers of South Dakota that Captain Sigel is the reason why the Christmas spirit is still alive! More importantly, the Rapid City community still raised money despite the Grinch's efforts to damage the giving spirit. This year, the city's proceeds went to a great organization called All Kids Bike which teaches kids in the area how to ride their bikes.

Thanks to the swift actions of Captain Sigel, the Grinch was quickly apprehended before he could steal any Christmas cheer from this afternoon’s Strider Bikes 2022 Jingle Bell Legacy Ride.

We had several team members join the ride to help the raise funds for All Kids Bike, an organization that helps kids in our area learn to ride bicycles. #CommunityFirst

Good work from the officers of the Rapid City Police Department! Hopefully while he's in jail, The Grinch can spend some time growing his heart three times bigger.
