Will Reichard Recorded a Career-Long Field Goal During MNF
On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings secured their first win of the season, staging a comeback on the road against the Chicago Bears.

The comeback win was an all-hands-on-deck effort, including former Alabama kicker Will Reichard, who executed a 59-yard field goal to start the Vikings' comeback, narrowing the score to 10-6 at the half.
The 59-yard kick marked a career-long for Reichard and tied the Soldier Field record previously set by former Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater in 2016.
Reichard is in his second season with the Vikings, selected No. 203 overall in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Before joining the NFL, Reichard played five seasons at Alabama, where he was a reliable placekicker. In 2019, he won the starting job for the Crimson Tide and appeared in five games before injuries limited his play. He began to establish a historical career in crimson and white in 2020, earning first-team All-American honors from CBS Sports, second-team All-American accolades from the Sporting News, and was a finalist for the Lou Graza Award. Additionally, he totaled 126 points, ranking fifth nationally, and was perfect on all scoring attempts with 84 PATs and 14 made field goals in as many tries.
Throughout his collegiate career, Reichard was consistently named to the Lou Graza Award Watch List and remained a top-five placekicker in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and nationally. In 2021, he led the SEC and raked No. 5 nationally for total points scored with 137, making 22 of 28 field goals and 71 of 72 PATs.
In 2022, Reichard ranked second in the SEC and No. 3 nationally in total points scored with 130, making 22 of 26 field goals and all 64 PATs. In the 2023 season, he became the NCAA's career points leader with 547, thanks to 84 field goals and 295 PATs, and finished as Alabama's career record holder for field goals.
