
FC Juarez Bravas Look to Win at Home This Weekend
The Bravas of FC Juarez will have more than a formidable opponent when they host Pachuca Femenil this weekend. The Bravos will not see any action this weekend as they are on an international FIFA break.
The Bravas match will take place the evening of Friday, Sept. 5 on the banks of the Rio Grande.
Bravas face stern test with Pachuca.
The FC Juarez Bravas will host Pachuca on Friday night. This is always a troublesome match for FC Juarez. Pachuca has historically dominated the Bravas since the beginning of Liga BBVA MX Femenil. In 12 matches, Pachuca has defeated Bravas eight times while the Bravas have only been able to pull off one victory. The have played to a draw three times.
Coming into Friday night’s match Pachuca comes into the Borderland in third place in the general standings table as a result of six wins, two draws and a lone defeat obtaining points in the process. Pachuca is the only team this season thus far to beat Club America after nine matches.
The Bravas are currently occupying the final playoff spot, sitting in eighth place in the general standings table as a result of four wins, three draws and two defeats obtaining 15 points in the process.
The Bravas are undefeated in their last three outings.
Friday night’s match is scheduled for a 9 p.m. MST kickoff and will be televised nationally on Fox Deportes and on the Fox Sports App.
The Bravos have won three matches in a row.
The FC Juarez Bravos are on quite the streak at the present moment, they have one three matches in a row, one on the road and two at home. The streak began in Guadalajara, Jalisco three weeks ago when the Bravos upset the Chivas by the score of 2-1. It was a result that few people expected, but nonetheless a match in which the team from the Borderland dominated Mexico’s most popular team.
The following week the Bravos hosted regional rival Santos Laguna. FC Juarez trailed early in the match conceding a goal in the 10th minute to make the score 1-0. The Bravos would overcome the deficit and take the lead in the closing stages of the match, in the span of only three minutes scoring in the 89th and 92nd (stoppage time) to get the win 2-1.
Juarez's most recent win came last Friday when they defeated Mazatlan 1-0. Bravos scored via a penalty kick in the 10th minute of the match. From there the Bravos settled and cruised to the win, handling the match with relative ease and little complication, they were closer to scoring the second goal of the match than Mazatlan was to getting the equalizer.
These recent results have the Bravos in eighth place in the general standings table as a result of three wins, two draws and two losses with a total of 11 points on the season.
Up next for the Bravos will be a road match against Necaxa. Always a complicated opponent for the Borderland’s major league team, Necaxa is off to a slow start this season winning only one match, having two draws and four defeats obtaining only 5 points thus far this season. They are currently in 15th place in the general standing table.
