Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway was described best by Reid Spencer at NASCAR.com. He writes, The sun went down, the new lights came on, and all hell broke loose at Martinsville Speedway.

It was a wreck filled finish of a race that went into overtime. The front stretch looked like the conclusion of a demolition derby at the checkered flag.

Let's talk about how this race ended up in overtime. Chase Elliott was leading with three laps to go. Then Denny Hamlin flat out dumped him in turn 3.

This led to hostility, as Elliott ran Hamlin into the wall on the cool down lap. Words were exchanged between the two drivers.

Hamlin claimed he was pushed by another car going into the corner. However there wasn't anyone within three car lengths of him.

This all led to Kyle Busch beating the series leader Martin Truex, Jr. by a mere 1/100th of a second at the stripe for the victory. Clint Bowyer was third, Brad Keselowski fourth, and Kevin Harvick came in fifth. See where your driver finished.

The battle for the Championship 4 is very tense as the action heads to Texas Motor Speedway next on Sunday.
