Martin Truex Jr. strikes again. This time at Kansas Speedway.

Truex won Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race. That makes seven victories this season for him.

He is the only driver to win both Kansas Speedway races in the same year. Truex did it in dramatic fashion, overcoming a restart penalty and an unscheduled pit stop.

Four drivers were eliminated from the series Playoffs. Jamie McMurray, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Matt Kenseth and Kyle Larson all failed to advance to the Round of 8.

The real surprise was Larson, who fell out of the race early with a blown engine. His power plant exploded on the front stretch on lap 77. Another shake up was Kenseth being disqualified because of too many crew members working on his car during a pit stop.

Kurt Busch came in second. Ryan Blaney was most impressive coming in third after starting way back at 40th. He was put back there after failing inspection after qualifying. He goes into into the Round of 8.

Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin ran fourth and fifth, respectively, to advance also. Take a look at the complete Playoff Standings.
