ESPN’s Matt Miller Comments on Gronowski & Payton Draft Stock
Mark Gronowski and Cole Payton are two of the more recognizable FCS star quarterbacks in recent seasons, and both are heading to the NFL in just a few short weeks.
Gronowski, who spent four years in Brookings and was a 2-time National Champion with the Jackrabbits, spent his final season last Fall at Iowa. Gronowski helped the Hawkeyes to a 9-4 record and finished with 26 total touchdowns.
Payton bided his time behind Cam Miller and others in Fargo before shining in his starting opportunity last season. He led the Bison to a 12-1 record and tallied 29 total touchdowns.

Payton has proven to be a big riser thus far in the pre-draft process, and Mark also has his fans at the next level.
Here's what ESPN NFL Draft Analyst Matt Miller had to say about both prospects on the Monday edition of Overtime with Bert Remien on ESPN Sioux Falls:
Right now, Payton is ranked as the 9th best Quarterback in the class and 248th overall prospect in the latest PFF rankings. Using the same source, Gronowski ranks 23rd and 342nd respectively.
Both former FCS stars will have their opportunities ahead in the NFL, as both hope to hear their names called later this month at the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.
The NFL Draft opens on Thursday, April 23rd and runs through Saturday the 25th.
