Alshon Jeffery Back on Practice Field for Eagles

The Eagles finally got a bit of good news on the injury front today as wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was seen back at practice for the first tie in almost 10 months, since suffering a Lisfranc injury.

He was listed as a limited participant on Thursday's official injury report.

While it seems very unlikely that he would be able to play this week or next, it is an encouraging sign that he might be able to help the team's wide receiving core sooner than later.

"There is an outside chance (he plays)," said NFL insider Adam Caplan from Inside the Birds Podcast.  "But I doubt it...there is a better chance he plays next week against the Niners."

The Eagles will be without roookie first-round pick Jalen Reagor this week and for the foreseeable future, and could use another weapon for the struggling Carson Wentz.

Last season, while Jeffery struggled, he would give the team a nice compliment to DeSean Jackson and if they can get him back in his old role.

Currently the Eagles have DeSean Jackson, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward and rookie John Hightower.  Deontay Burnett is another option to be promoted from the practice squad.

Jeffery had 43 catches for 490 yards and four scores in 10 games during a disappointing 2019.

"He is in really good, physical shape," Caplan said.  "But they need to see how that foot will respond."
