District 1 and 2 Class AA Teams Making Final Push Towards District Playoffs
Some teams are playing four games within the next seven days to complete the full 20 game slate. Here's where we stand heading into the final weekend.
Class AA Boys
O'Gorman and Brookings have a big game on Friday night (2/17) to essentially determine who will be the top seed in District 1. The Knights have three total games left including the matchup in Brookings. Watertown will be the 3rd seed and Roosevelt will be the 4th seed. Roosevelt has four games left to finish out the schedule.
District 1
- Brookings, 43.78, 16-2 (O’Gorman, @Aberdeen Central)

- Roosevelt, 35.88, 0-16 (Bishop Heelan (IA), Washington, @Marshall, Watertown)
Brandon Valley is in full control of District 2 heading into the final week. Washington is almost completely secured as the second seed, and Lincoln is almost fully tied into the third seed. Harrisburg is on a five game winning streak to put them back into the seeding race with Yankton.

Girls AA
Roosevelt is the top seed in District 1 but they are on another mission. The Rough Riders have an opportunity to overtake Harrisburg in seed points to claim the top overall spot in Class AA. O'Gorman and Brookings will play on Friday night (2/17) in a game that will essentially determine who will host another game between the two when the district tournaments arrive. Watertown will travel to Roosevelt as the 4th seed.
- Roosevelt, 43.83, 13-5 (Washington, Marshall, MN)
- O’Gorman, 40.47, 7-10 (@Brookings, Mitchell, @WHS)
- Brookings, 39.22, 8-10 (O’Gorman, Aberdeen Central)
- Watertown, 37.29, 5-12 (@LHS, Yankton, HHS)
Harrisburg enters the final three days as the top overall team in Class AA and the top seed in District 2. The Tigers have three games left on their schedule, so it isn't essentially a lock for them to be the top team going into Districts. A lot of things would have to play out though for it to change. District 2 is loaded this year on the girls side with Brandon Valley, Lincoln, and Washington all at or over 10 wins. The difference of seed points is so small between Brandon Valley and Lincoln that it looks likely, if both teams were to win or lose their final game, that the determining factor will be the out-of-state teams that Lincoln played. Yankton will be the 5th seed and will travel for the play-in-game on February 25.
- Harrisburg, 43.94, 16-1 (Pierre, @Huron, Watertown)
- Brandon Valley, 43.05, 16-3 (Pierre)
- Lincoln, 42.95, 12-7 (Watertown)
- Washington, 42.06, 10-8 (@RHS, O’Gorman)
- Yankton, 38.33, 6-12 (@Watertown, Mitchell)
