Iowa's magical basketball season came to an end on Sunday. Two Final Fours in a row. Back-to-back appearances in the national championship game. Record TV ratings no matter which network the game was shown on! All things that this team and every Iowa fan should be proud of. On Wednesday, Hawkeye fans can gather one last time to say thank you to Caitlin Clark and this amazing group of Iowa seniors.

First, let's talk about more record TV numbers. NBC News reports that the Iowa versus South Carolina National Title game drew a record 18.7 million viewers with a peak number of 24 million! That's a number that even had Caitlin Clark doing a double-take!


It is the highest-rated women's basketball game in history, and the highest-rated basketball game of any kind, college or pro, in the past five years! Another testament to the power of Caitlin Clark and this Iowa women's basketball team.

Last year after the NCAA Tournament, a celebration was held on the Pentacrest in Iowa City to honor the Iowa women's basketball team. This year, that party is being moved to Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Daily Iowan reports that the celebration honoring the Hawkeyes will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The Daily Iowan reports that the team's trophies will be on hand along with Herky, the Iowa Spirit Squad, and the Iowa Pep Band. Fans will get to hear from head coach Lisa Bluder and say their final goodbyes to seniors Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall, Molly Davis, and Sharon Goodman.

Parking lots around Carver will open at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
