It's a popular drink here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but it'll soon disappear from store shelves across Minnesota.

When you're a major corporation with a lot of products in your portfolio, keeping all of them going, all the time, can be a challenge. It's also why many products that seem to be popular and well-loved by fans end up in the dustbin. Such is the case with this popular drink that's soon set to go away for good here in the Bold North.

The product in question is a line of drinks from Mountain Dew.  Mountain Dew is, of course, a popular brand of carbonated soft drinks 'produced and owned by PepsiCo. The original formula was invented in 1940 by Tennessee beverage bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman,' its website says.

And while the Mountain Dew brand has expanded quite a bit since then to add many new products and flavors, one of them is now set to be discontinued. According to industry site The Street, Moutain Dew Energy is the popular brand that PepsiCo is effectively ending.

"After careful consideration, we will be discontinuing MTN Dew Energy. We are incredibly grateful for your support," PepsiCo said in The Street story. "Fear not, Rockstar has your back for your energy needs. Find your flavor today," The Street said.

The Mountain Dew Energy brand hasn't been around too long, at least judging by this 2022 Instagram post from iSpySnacks, touting the then-new brand:

The Mountain Dew Wiki page says Mountain Dew Energy first debuted in 2021, but was originally known as Mountain Dew Rise. It was available in several flavors in the nearly three years of its existence:

  • Pomegranate Blue Burst
  • Strawberry Melon Spark
  • Berry Blitz
  • Tropical Sunrise
  • Peach Mango Dawn
  • Orange Breeze
  • Cherry Lime Lift
  • Baja Blast
  • Code Red
  • Major Melon
  • Dragonfruit Charge
  • Liberty Brew Energy

But now, a little less than three years later, the product is going away. The news was first reported by SodaSeekers in a post on its Instagram page:

So, if you're a fan of Mountain Dew Energy, you'd best get to your favorite grocery or convenience store here in Minnesota and stock up before it's gone for good!
