After losing games in every conceivable way in the first two months of the 2015 football season, the Nebraska Cornhuskers finally had one go their way - in controversial fashion - last weekend with a 39-38 win over previously unbeaten #6 Michigan State.

This time it was the Huskers that took advantage of another team's failure to put them away, as quarterback Tommy Armstrong rallied the Big Red from 12 points down in the final two minutes.

I talked with the 'Voice of the Huskers' Greg Sharpe about Nebraska's dramatic win, which featured nearly 500 total yards from the offense and a disputed touchdown catch from Brandon Reilly with 17 seconds left.

Armstrong threw for 320 yards, including two big throws to Jordan Westerkamp on the game-winning drive, and ran for two scores, earning him Big Ten Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Nebraska (4-6/2-4) ran for 179 yards, despite losing running Terrell Newby early in the game with an injury. The defense gave up close to 500 yards, but had some key stops late in the game to give the Huskers a win over their highest ranked opponent since a 2001 victory over #2 Oklahoma.

The Big Red hopes to keep that momentum going this week as they head to New Brunswick, New Jersey for the first time to battle Rutgers.

The Scarlet Knights (3-6/1-5) have had a tough go of it in 2015, losing four of their last five, including a 49-16 blowout at Michigan last weekend.

Rutgers has struggled on both sides of the ball, with quarterback Chris Laviano throwing three interceptions and no touchdowns in the last three games, and a defense that ranks next to last in the Big Ten, giving up more than 458 yards of total offense per game.

In the last four games, Rutgers has allowed 198 points.

The good news for the Scarlet Knights is the return on talented wide receiver Leonte Carroo, who returns from a high ankle sprain this week. In the last 11 quarters he's been on the field he's caught six touchdown passes.

Nebraska should get Newby back on offense, along with receivers Stanley Morgan and Alonzo Moore, while Michael Rose-Ivey and Kevin Williams return for the Husker defense.

Kickoff is 2:30 PM in New Jersey, Saturday. You can follow the Cornhuskers all season long on ESPN 99.1!
