It was one of the most competitive British Open's in history with no fewer than seven different players holding at least a share of the lead during the final round at Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus, Scotland. At one point there was six-way tie for first on the back nine, Sunday (July 22).

But when it was all said and done, Italian Francesco Molinari put together an impressive streak of 37 holes without a bogey to emerge with a two-stroke win and Italy's first major victory.
