South Dakota State Stays Put, South Dakota Out of FCS Top 25
In a week that saw a lot of movement in the polls, South Dakota State and South Dakota both had two very different experiences in this week's STATS FCS Top 25.
The Jackrabbits (2-0) are holding steady at number-three overall, the same place they've been since the pre-season. SDSU is heading into a bye week after putting up a school-record 90 points in an 84-point win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Next week (September 29), South Dakota State opens Missouri Valley Conference play at top-ranked North Dakota State.
South Dakota (1-2) falls out of the poll this week, after losing 27-10 at then #11 Weber State. The Coyotes had been ranked as high as number 22, but are now the second team on the outside this week. With the win, Weber State cracks the Top Ten this week at number seven. The Wildcats are one of three new teams (along with McNeese and Jacksonville State) in the Top Ten this week
South Dakota also has this week off before opening MVFC play at Southern Illinois, September 29.
Overall, the MVFC has four teams in the Top 25 with North Dakota State first, Illinois State 16th, and Northern Iowa 25th.
