COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore did not practice Wednesday because of a bruised hip and coach Steve Spurrier says his junior star might not start Saturday against No. 3 Florida.

Spurrier had said Lattimore was running well earlier in the week, but the injury kept him out of Wednesday's workout. Lattimore arrived at practice let and watched from the sidelines.

If Lattimore can't go, Spurrier says backup Kenny Miles and freshman Mike Davis would handle the load at tailback.

Spurrier says the flu has run through the team, keeping several others on the sidelines. Receiver Ace Sanders missed practice Tuesday and receiver Bruce Ellington was out Wednesday.

Defensive lineman Kelcy Quarles missed practice with a shoulder injury while lineman Jadeveon Clowney dealt with a foot injury.
