BURNSVILLE, MN -- Augustana's Paul Yak and Sioux Falls' Jordon Bents were honored by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for their track and field performances this past weekend.

Yak -- the NSIC men's track athlete of the week -- competed in the 5,000-meter run at the prestigious Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. over the weekend.  He clocked the first provisional qualifying time for the Vikings in the outdoor season, placing 10th in his heat with a 14:36.80.  The Storm Lake, Iowa native was the third-highest finishing Division II runner in the men's 5k and currently ranks 10th in Division II with his time.

Bents is the conference men's field athlete of the week.  He took third place in the shot put at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Neb. on Saturday.  Bents was the top Division II finisher at the meet and also holds the 17th best mark in Division II this season with his NCAA provisional qualifying launch of 52-10.25 (16.11m).  Bents also competed in the Discus where his throw of 136-3 (41.52m) placed him 22nd overall.
