He was this close to reclaiming a spot in the NBA. For now Briante Weber will continue his march through the NBADL with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Four point guards were chosen to audition for the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Three of them were on the Prospect Watch list of 25 top candidates to be called up to the Association.

Weber is currently ranked number one on that list, but the one that the Sixers took was Chasson Randle who is slotted at number 18. According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Randle will sign a 10-day deal and leave the Westchester Knicks behind for as long as deemed necessary by Philadelphia.

The Sixers can keep Randle for the duration of two 10-day contracts. After that Philadelphia must decide whether to keep him for the rest of the season or cut Randle loose.

Skyforce fans may recall the Sixers did something similar with Larry Drew II. A couple years ago, Drew II lasted the 20 days before returning to Sioux Falls.

Weber expressed his resolve via Twitter after not being chosen to play with his third NBA organization.

Yogi Ferrell (#25 on the Prospect Watch) of the Long Island Nets and Cat Barber of the Delaware 87ers (Philly’s D-League affiliate) were the other two candidates. The Skyforce will be back on the court against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Wednesday before returning home for their special Military Night on Friday.
