He’s on a two-way ticket to Houston. Former Sioux Falls Skyforce guard Briante Weber has been inked to a deal with the Rockets.

The transaction also means that Weber will likely be performing his defensive wizardry against the Skyforce in the near term. Houston’s offer is a two-way contract meaning Weber will only spend 45 days maximum with the Rockets and the rest of the time with the G League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Coincidentally, Weber’s last game with the ‘Force before getting called up to Golden State last season was against the Vipers. The journey since then included ending the regular season with Charlotte a pink slip after Summer League followed by a training camp invite to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Though it didn’t work out in La-La Land, Weber continues to treat every day as a new beginning.

In 59 games, Weber compiled 6 triple-doubles in his Skyforce career. That’s double the number of the second-place entrant on the list. Plus Weber logged 160 steals which is two shy of 9th on the all-time Skyforce list.

Rio Grande Valley will play twice in Sioux Falls this season on back-to-back nights November 17 and 18. There will be one more encounter in Hidalgo, Texas on January 27.
