It was only one game for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, but Juancho Hernangomez is forever entered on the team’s ledger. The Spaniard is currently making a bigger mark on the international stage.

Recently, current Miami Heat guard Larry Drew II and former Skyforce swingman Reggie Williams wrapped up their gold-medal run at the FIBA AmeriCup tournament. Hernangomez is currently playing for Spain’s national team in the FIBA EuroBasket tournament.

On assignment from the Denver Nuggets for just one game last season, Hernangomez posted a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) for the Skyforce. At EuroBasket, through eight games Juancho is holding his own with 8.8 points, 6 rebounds on 41 percent shooting.

Alas, Spain will not repeat as Eurocup Champion after falling to Slovenia in the semifinals. On Sunday, Spain and Russia will meet for third place while Slovenia and Serbia will tangle for the title.

Juancho is the youngest player on Spain’s roster which contains seven current NBA players. Also , there are two sets of NBA brothers on the squad for Spain with the Gasols (Pau and Marc) and the Hernangomez tandem (Willy and Juancho).
