Minnesota Vikings Trade Yannick Ngakoue to the Baltimore Ravens

Six weeks into the regular season, and seven weeks after the initial trade was made, the Minnesota Vikings have decided to move on from defensive end Yannick Ngakoue.

Ngakoue was traded from Jacksonville to Minnesota back on August 30. The Vikings sent a second-round 2021 draft pick and a conditional fifth-round 2022 pick to the Jaguars for Ngakoue.

Seven weeks after the trade, and six weeks into a 2020 season that the Vikings have started 1-5, the team has decided to move on from the defensive lineman. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Vikings are trading Ngakoue to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick, and a 2022 conditional fifth-round pick.

Ngakoue departs from Minnesota after posting five sacks, 12 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and two forced fumbles. He will now join a Ravens team that sits at 5-1 on the season and near the top of the AFC standings. This will also give Baltimore the combination of Ngakoue and Calais Campbell, both of which were teammates together in Jacksonville.

Chances are that the Vikings are not done quite yet. After the 1-5 start and the trade deadline nearing, the team is filled with veterans that could be on the move. ESPN's Courtney Cronin says that guys like Riley Reiff and Anthony Harris might be next.

We'll see if anything else pops up, but for now, Ngakoue is the first one out the door.
