The best of the NBA Development League will get the honor of playing in the D-League All-Star Game in New Orleans with the Sioux Falls Skyforce big three chosen to take part.

Center Keith Benson, forward Okaro White and guard Briante Weber are among the 12 players selected from the Western Conference which will be coached by the staff from the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The game will be played on Saturday February 18.

Granted, there are certain criteria for players like White and Weber who are currently with NBA teams for them to be eligible to play in the game. Mainly, they must be on an active NBA D-League roster at the time of the game to participate.

For White that would mean an assignment from Miami to Sioux Falls for the game since the Florida State alum will be with Miami for the rest of the season. Weber’s current 10-day contract would expire on February 13. If another 10-day deal is offered, Weber would likely stay with the Golden State Warriors.

Conceivably, Weber could be back on the Sioux Falls roster and cleared to play in this game if no other NBA offer is on the table. All things being equal, sticking in the NBA would likely be much more appealing.
