LJ Phillips Jr. put together one of the most historic and memorable seasons for a running back in USD program history this Fall.

The South Dakota Coyotes, fresh off of a stunning shutout win at Mercer (over the Bears), take their talents out West to take on the bigger, badder (and higher-seeded) Grizzlies of Montana.

For the first time in the long history of the USD Coyote football program, they'll face off with a SoCon team on Saturday morning.

Both the SDSU Jackrabbits and USD Coyotes took care of business at home last weekend in the opening round of the FCS playoffs, and now will venture out on the road this weekend.

The USD Coyotes had a slow start to the season, opening up with an 0-2 record, and it took until mid-October before the team could claim a winning record.

Both the South Dakota Coyotes and SDSU Jackrabbits had strong regular seasons on the football field once again, and both programs now set their sights on the FCS playoffs.
