Two Sioux Falls Schools Punch Tickets to Class AA Boys State Tournament
Two Sioux Falls schools are heading to Rapid City, while another still has a chance to make it.
Sioux Falls O'Gorman secured their 14th straight victory with a 53-48 win over Brookings on their home floor. With the win, O'Gorman captured the District 1 championship and the Knights clinched a birth in the state tournament. O'Gorman will be the top overall seed.
The defending champions in Class AA will have a chance to defend their title. After a 9-10 regular season, the Lincoln Patriots defeated Washington and Harrisburg to win the District 2 tournament. Lincoln will be looking for their fourth straight championship appearance, and third straight title.
Pierre went on the road in the District 3 final and found a 56-52 win over Huron. Pierre will be making their 7th straight state tournament appearance. Pierre finished the regular season at 10-10 before winning their two District games. Their last title came in 2013.
In District 4 it was Rapid City Stevens that punched their ticket to take the 4.4 mile trip to the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Stevens defeated Sturgis Brown 44-42. The Raiders went 14-5 during the regular season and will either be the second or third seed in the tournament.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt picked up their first win of the season beating Watertown 46-36. The Rough Riders will now have the chance to make it to the state tournament if they can secure a win over Harrisburg (who lost to Lincoln in the District 2 final).
Two of the top regular season teams in Class AA played for a chance to continue their season. It took overtime to separate Brandon Valley and Washington, but it was the Lynx continuing their season with a 61-55 win. Brandon Valley will travel to Brookings in the region final on Tuesday night.
Aberdeen Central will have another chance to get to the dance as they defeated the winless Mitchell Kernels 75-52. Aberdeen Central will play Sturgis Brown in the region final.
