Legendary Minnesota Vikings QB Passes Away
The Minnesota Vikings have had a tough year in regard to the passing of legends.
Earlier this year, Hall of Fame Head Coach Bud Grant passed away, and now the franchise is mourning the loss of one of the best passers in team history.
Now, we've learned that former Vikings quarterback Joe Kapp has passed away at the age of 85.
According to Pro Football Talk, Kapp’s son, J.J. "said that his father died after a “15-year battle with dementia.” He died in San Jose, California
Kapp led the Vikings to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl IV in 1970 in his third year with the team.
In 1969, Knapp threw a record seven touchdowns in one game.

Kapp will go down as one of the cornerstone figures for the Vikings at the Quarterback position but was involved in much more than just playing football.
He did some acting in movies and on TV, including a part in The Longest Yard.
In the 1980s, Kapp became the head football coach at his alma mater, the University of California, Berkeley.
