The Minnesota Vikings have had a tough year in regard to the passing of legends.

Earlier this year, Hall of Fame Head Coach Bud Grant passed away, and now the franchise is mourning the loss of one of the best passers in team history.

Now, we've learned that former Vikings quarterback Joe Kapp has passed away at the age of 85.

According to Pro Football Talk, Kapp’s son, J.J. "said that his father died after a “15-year battle with dementia.” He died in San Jose, California

  • Kapp will go down as one of the cornerstone figures for the Vikings at the Quarterback position but was involved in much more than just playing football.

He did some acting in movies and on TV, including a part in The Longest Yard.

In the 1980s, Kapp became the head football coach at his alma mater, the University of California, Berkeley.

Minnesota Vikings In The Super Bowl? Yep, I Can Remember All Four

It's that time of year, the time when everyone is talking about the NFL's upcoming Super Bowl.

It may be hard to believe, but there was a time when the Minnesota Vikings went to the Super Bowl.

And then they went again. And then again. And then again. Hey, we were one of the greatest teams of all time!

Unfortunately, it was the same time the Vikings lost the Super Bowl. And then again. And then again. And then again. Well, at least we must have been one of the second-best teams of all time!

For a whole lot of Vikings fans...you know, the ones who walk around with younger bones...the Vikings have never been to the Super Bowl.

Then there's the ol' dog that is me. I remember the first time... and the second... and the third... and the fourth.

Ten Most Disappointing Minnesota Sports Seasons

The 2021 Minnesota Twins entered the season with high expectations, but unfortunately, they've made the list of most disappointing Minnesota teams of all time.

Disappointment is a common feeling for Minnesota sports fans as the years continue. Following the NBA Championship win for Milwaukee, SportsCenter was quick to point out that Minnesota has the current longest streak of seasons without a championship appearance in the four major sports (MLB/NBA/NFL/NHL). The Minnesota Lynx also chimed in on the stat after claiming four championships since 2011.

The ten teams that are on this list all follow a similar pattern. The year prior was either a great season with a playoff run or one that featured a strong core of players that appeared to have taken the next step. Offseason/preseason expectations were high with even Las Vegas oddsmakers believing in a deep run. Unfortunately, those preseason expectations fell short for the following teams. None of the teams listed below made the playoffs.
