A senior class of four at Lennox has shattered school records and helped shape the program under head coach Adam Quail.

Gracie Bowers, Isabel Ihnen, Rianna Fillipi, and Madysen Vlastuin have led the Lennox Orioles over the last four years to a combined 82-12 record and three state Class A basketball tournament appearances. Add on numerous individual records between the four and it's quick to see how special of a group this team is.

From a runner-up finish in 2017 and a third-place finish in 2019, the Lennox Orioles had a goal to return back to the Class A title game in 2020. Lennox finished the regular season 19-1 and outscored opponents by an average margin of victory of 25.9 points. As a team, the Orioles shot just under 51% from the floor.

Following a region victory over Vermillion, and a SoDak16 win over Miller, the Orioles were set to enter the Class A tournament against Red Cloud as the 4th overall seed.

"These four seniors have truly left their mark on Lennox Girls Basketball. Not only are they great basketball players but they are exceptional people and leaders in their community. Even though they will be greatly missed they have shown future Orioles what can be accomplished by working hard and working TOGETHER. I look forward to following all their future successes" - Adam Quail, Lennox Head Coach

  • College: South Dakota State (Basketball)

"Madysen has been incredibly consistent and reliable for Lennox Girls basketball the past five
years. She has provided an invaluable amount of leadership and experience for our team.
Madysen’s skill set is diverse in that she can score in a variety of ways. She is strong on the block and at 6’1 has a quick, pure release that makes her tough to guard on the perimeter. She is so automatic from midrange that I’m honestly surprised when she does miss" - Adam Quail

#11 Gracie Bowers, G

  • Four-year varsity player for Lennox. Started at guard.
  • Averaged 2.6 points/game, 2.3 rebounds/game, 2.9 assists/game, and 1.3 steals/game during her senior year.
  • College: Southeast Tech (Major - Nursing)

"Gracie’s contribution to the team may not always show up in the stats. Gracie is often faced with the challenge of guarding the opposing team’s best offensive player, a challenge she willingly accepts. Gracie is also one of the hardest workers I have ever had the opportunity to coach. Not only does she bring energy and intensity every day to practice, but she also brings a positive attitude that is contagious to everyone in the gym" - Adam Quail

#12 Isabel Ihnen, G

  • Four-year varsity player for Lennox. Started at guard.
  • Averaged 8.3 points/game, 3.5 rebounds/game, 2.9 assists/game, and 1.7 steals/game during her senior year.
  • Honors:
    • Dak XII Conference Honorable Mention (2020)
    • Holds Lennox 3-point percentage record at 40.2% (2020)
  • College: Dakota Wesleyan (Basketball)

"Doing most of her work from behind the arc, Isabel has built quite the reputation as a
sharpshooter. She consistently hits shots when we need them the most and always seems to shine bright in big games. Isabel is also extremely talented at making sure we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Not only is she a skilled basketball player but she also has a knack for making those around her laugh and smile." - Adam Quail

#30 Rianna Fillipi, G

  • Four-year varsity player at Lennox at the point guard position
  • Averaged 15.9 points/game, 3.5 rebounds/game, 4.9 assists/game, and 4.4 steals/game during her senior year.
  • Honors:
    • First-Team All-State Class A 2020
    • Dak XII Conference First-Team in 2018, 2019, and 2020
    • All-time career assists leader at Lennox (438)
  • College: Northern State (Basketball)

"Rio’s selflessness, vision, and skilled ball-handling have served her well the past four years in her role as the floor leader for Lennox Girls Basketball and the top point guard in the state. Rio
influences the game in many different ways and has been a nightmare for opposing teams on
both the offensive and defensive ends. It doesn’t take long when watching Rio play to notice that her athleticism, explosiveness, and speed are a notch above her peers. Her competitiveness and passion for the game are unmatched." - Adam Quail

Congratulations to the Lennox Orioles and to Madysen, Gracie, Isabel, and Rianna on a great high school career!
